Differential immunolocalization of PRDXs in human spermatozoa. Spermatozoa were permeabilized or not with methanol and incubated overnight with the specific antibody against each PRDX and then with the corresponding biotin-labelled anti-mouse or anti-rabbit antibody followed by streptavidin conjugated to Alexa Fluor 555 [42]. The fluorescence obtained with the second antibodies and the Alexa Fluor 555-conjugated streptavidin alone was low and only at the level of the sperm head and equatorial segment (data not shown).
