The male urogenital tract in the anatomical illustrations of Andreas Vesalius (1514–1564)

Abstract

Vesalius was perceptive, methodical and brilliant, and the greatest anatomist of all times. He created the anatomical nomenclature of organs that is still used today. He elaborated more than 300 remarkable anatomical illustrations, some of which are devoted to the male urogenital tract, providing valuable information about the state of knowledge on urology and andrology at the time.
