Autoconservation de sperme avant traitement anti-cancéreux

Resume

L'autoconservation de sperme reste encore aujourd'hui le moyen le plus efficace de préservation de la fertilité avant traitement anti-cancéreux chez un sujet jeune. L'altération de la qualité initiale du sperme est plus marquée dans le cancer du testicule que dans la maladie de Hodgkin. Les résultats de la congélation dépendent de la qualité initiale du sperme mais les progrès des techniques d'A.M.P ont élargi les possibilités d'utilisation du sperme congelé. L'impact psychologique de l'autoconservation est très positif; elle doit être proposée même si la qualité du sperme n'est pas optimale.

Abstract

Cryopreservation of spermatozoa before treatement is the only proven effective method available to circumvent the sterilizing effect of therapy in young patients with malignant diseases.

Sperm disturbances are more important in testicular cancer than in Hodgkin disease. Sperm cryopreservation results depend on sperm initial quality but the advances in Assisted reproduction methods make sperm banking more helpful. Psychological impact of sperm cryopreservation is very strong. It should be proposed even semen quality is poor before oncologic treatement.
