Rare association hypogonadotropic hypogonadism and renal cells carcinoma
Andrologie volume 6, pages 445–450 (1996)
Abstract
The diagnosis of a renal cell carcinoma in a patient suffering of hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (HH) treated for years by hCG, and during a year and half by hMG, leads to hypothesis on the reasons of this association.
The observations published on the association of renal aplasia in HH of the Kallmann syndrom, the possible increased risks of renal carcinoma on hypoplastic kidneys and the putative interrelation beetwen renal cell cancer and hyperestrogenism might be the explanation
Besides the excessive sexual activity under testicular stimulation and the “normal” activity in spite of a very low plasma testosterone (0,20 ng/ml) are underlined.
